  5. Note from the Authors of International Political Economy in the 21st Century

Following the positive response to our first edition of International Political Economy in the 21st Century: Contemporary Issues and Analyses, and in order to make this a truly contemporary text we are pleased to have been asked to produce a second edition. We have taken the opportunity to not only update all of the original chapters but we have also added three additional chapters on Health, Migration and Labour. Feedback on the first edition indicates that it has been adopted as a core text or recommended reading at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This reflects both the accessibility and sophistication of analysis which make this an introductory text as well as suitable for higher levels of study. In updating this text we have also taken into account the different approaches to understanding and teaching theories and methodologies in US and European institutions.
