  5. Note from Bill Jones and Philip Norton, Authors of Politics UK, 8th Edition

    Politics UK was first conceived as a multi-authored first US style mega textbook on British politics around the late 1980s. It took three years to knock it into shape but when it was published in 1990 its success helped transform the style and content of such textbooks. Soon there were three or four rival big texts, though none outsold the original. Over the years several of the original authors went on to other things, leaving the two of us to continue carrying the flashlight.
