The US-Japan Alliance: Balancing Soft and Hard Power in East Asia, edited by David Arase and Tsuneo Akaha, has won the Masayoshi Ohira Memorial Special Prize, 2011. The award is targeted to works by individual authors, collaborations or compilations, which contribute to the development of “the Pacific Basin Community Concept” and also regional studies of the Pacific Basin region.
