This book offers a comprehensive look at the current literatures and research based on empirical data from across different countries in Africa. It focuses on the work of leading scholars of management in and around Africa and the African Context, exploring whether we can at this point refer to ‘African Management’ as an emerging and distinct stream in the scholarly discourse in management. The main themes are macro and micro issues of Management in Africa, each chapter illustrating the historical or traditional view of Management in Africa versus the newer western business management perspective.

Betty Jane Punnett (Ph.D. NYU) is Professor of International Business & Management at the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill). Her recent books include Management: A Developing Country Perspective (Routledge), International Perspectives on Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, 3rd edition, and Experiencing International Business and Management, 3rd edition (M.E. Sharpe).
Bill Buenar Puplampu (PhD; C.Psychol) is an Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Chartered Psychologist (BPS), and Dean of the Central Business School of Central University College, Ghana. His work has appeared in Business and Society Review, Acta Commercii, Ife PsycholoGIA, European Business Review, Canadian Journal of Development Studies and Consulting Psychology Journal.
Dr. Terri R. Lituchy (Ph.D.University of Arizona) is an Associate Professor of International Management at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. Terri’s publications include Successful Professional Women of the Americas (2006), Gender and the Dysfunctional Workplace (Elgar, 2012) and Management in Africa (Routledge, 2012).
