Navigating Around CogSLP
Using the panel on the sidebar, place the cursor over a section heading under Contents. You will see a drop-down menu listing chapters in that section. Select a chapter and click on it to open. The sidebar will now display a second panel listing the features in the chapter. Each chapter includes the following:
What's It About?
A full chapter summary.
Chapter Topics
A menu of topics within the chapter. To access the text for each topic place the cursor over the Chapter Topics heading and select the desired topic from the drop-down menu. You can then scroll through the topic, which is arranged according to the following structure:

Stimulating questions on the topic themes. - What you need to know
A breakdown of the topics into sections. The text contains concise coverage of topics and includes predictions, clearly presented research evidence, and evaluation sections. - So what does this mean?
Summarises and concludes the section.
These include page number cross references to Cognitive Psychology: A Student's Handbook. They also provide an integrative framework for other multimedia materials in the student resources package. Embedded within each chapter are links to the following resources:
- Interactive exercises: including drag and drop labelling of figures, and animations of key concepts.
- Simulated experiments: sophisticated replications of key research with analysis and explanation of results.
- Research activities: to enliven and reinforce the textual content, including suggestions for students to replicate classic research studies.
- Case studies: to highlight and summarise classic research with real life examples.
- Links: to related websites.
- Key terms: pop-up definitions of highlighted key terms.
- Active referencing links: to the full text of key journal articles thematically selected from leading journals.
Key Terms
An interactive list of all key terms featured in the chapter. Key term definitions can be used for self-testing the meanings of the listed key words.
