General Strategies to Improve Auditory Comprehension
Following are general strategies to help individuals improve auditory comprehension:
- Provide note takers to assist in writing down verbal information, including in the classroom, work setting, and/or at home.
- Tape record information that can be played and reviewed at later times.
- Paraphrase what others state to ensure that the information to be communicated has been understood.
- Ask the speaker to write their message, in addition to speaking it.
