General Strategies
Following are general strategies to help individuals remember information:
- Repeat information and rehearse tasks several times.
- To learn/memorize tasks, have the individual progress through a hierarchy of tasks, ranging from the most basic to the most complex.
- Make use of preserved skills to compensate for impaired ones.
- Modify the environment, social or work role, or personal resources so as to reduce components of novelty, time or performance pressure, and fatigue.
- Routinize daily activities.
- Allow extra time to complete each task.
- Have the individual pace them self: Do not take on more than they can handle.
