Visual Memory Strengths
Following are suggestions to assist individuals who remember information best if they see it:
- Provide visual information such as written lists, pictures, diagrams, modeled demonstrations, etc.
- Have the individual visualize information to be remembered (i.e., have them close their eyes and visualize stories they hear, conversations they are told, etc.).
- Have the individual translate spoken/written materials and ideas to visual forms (e.g., pictures, diagrams, charts, etc.).
- In appropriate settings (e.g., classrooms, business meetings), provide the individual with written outlines so to maximize retention.
- Use flash cards to enhance memorization.
