Questions of ensemble – what it is, how it works – are both inherent to a variety of Western theater traditions, and re-emerging and evolving in striking new ways in the twenty-first century. The Heart of Teaching speaks to experienced teachers and beginning teachers in all disciplines, but is particularly relevant to those in the performing arts, from which most of its examples are drawn.
